Gwendolyn Harris, M.Ed.

Gwendolyn Harris is a third-generation educator and native of Chicago's West Side. Gwen founded It Takes a Village Family of Schools in Chicago's Humboldt Park community in May of 2004 to ensure that children have the foundational skills necessary to excel in elementary school. In 2007, Gwen co-founded ITAV Development with a similar mission, believing that a person's zip code should not limit access to high-quality commercial real estate assets and amenities. Gwen has a BA in Elementary Education and a Master's in Curriculum and Leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Gwen has also served on the Women's Board at DuSable Museum and the Board of Directors for "Stop the Pain." Gwen is a licensed spiritual teacher for the Universal Foundation for Better Living.
